The fleur de lys motif has long been associated with the French crown, since one legend identified it as the lily given by the Virgin Mary to Clovis, king of the Franks at his baptism in 508. When Charlemagne was crowned emperor in 800 Pope Leo III is also said to have presented him with a blue banner covered with golden fleurs de lys.
Our Fleur de Lys fabric is woven in England and we are pleased to offer it in this White/Gold silk blend brocade option, as well as in an expanding range of colours in pure silk.
